So, I like to get to know the people I RP with and the way I usually do that is by asking a completely random hypothetical question.
Also I'm insanely bored right now.
Anyway here it goes:
You are trying to pull a heist an you must assemble (or have been assembled) onto a heist team. Who's on this team? What role are you? There are a total of seven roles listed below which must be fulfilled:
1. The Protagonist/The Mastermind: Always brimming with confidence. Gives the impression that the entire universe has been playing its part all this time so his fool proof plan can work. Sometimes he can put plans into action without other team members knowing it, which also serves as a source of his confidence amidst lots of apprehensions being expressed by his team members.
2. The Hacker: Usually someone the protagonist knows. Is expected to be familiar with the latest in gadgets and technology. Dude didn’t make it big in corporate geekdom as he couldnt clear IIT-JEE or other entrance exams owing to his ADD Syndrome (or similar affliction). So decided to put his awesome programming skills to hack into alarm and security systems.
3. The Thief: Also someone whom the protagonist is familiar with. Picks locks and goes into all the small places (like ventilation shafts) the rest of the team won't or can't go. Very likely to have recently emerged from jail (where he could have met the protagonist) to join the team.
4. The Wheel-man: Mainly used for getaway purposes. Is likely to have a history of being a mechanic. Has very specific intentions with his share of the money: usually a Lamborghini or a Ferrari.
5. The Newbie: This is usually someone who is picked up during the planning. Kid shows enormous enthusiasm as he has highly unrealistic dreams and usually lives in the dreamworld. Sees this heist as his passport to that world and readily agrees. Sometimes made to carry out acts without being aware of the risks.
6. The Girl/The Grifter: Always the girl friend (or boy friend) of the protagonist. Others may have their eye on him/her (and this may lead to the final twist). Charming and highly attractive their job is to distract security and seduce potential information sources with honeyed words and cleavage/washboard abs.
7. The Bank: The one funding the entire operation. Usually complicates the plan by placing harsh time restraints on the would-be heisters or by insisting that they be taken along despite having virtually no skill set to add to the heist.
You can use fictional characters (as long as they're not from a heist movie/show/book/etc) in these roles if you want, but preferably use people you know.
